Quick Entry is a small bar that opens over whatever you are doing, even with Letronna hidden in the tray.
Opening it
Press Ctrl+Shift+Space from anywhere. Press it again to close the bar.
You can also pick Quick entry from the tray menu, or from the menu bar icon on macOS.
Asking
- Type your message. Paste a picture to send it too.
- Choose where it goes. The button beside the bar says Continue last or New session; click it, or press Ctrl+L, to switch.
- Press Enter.
The bar grows to show the end of the reply as it comes in, with the session's name. When the reply needs your yes, answer it in the main window. A moment after the reply ends, the bar shrinks back, ready for the next message.
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| Enter | send |
| Ctrl+L | New session or Continue last |
| Ctrl+Enter | send what is typed, and open the main window on that session |
| Escape | close the bar |
On macOS, use Cmd for Ctrl, except in Ctrl+Shift+Space.
If a message cannot go, for example while a reply is still running there, the bar says why and keeps what you typed.
Changing the key
Open Settings > Shortcuts.
Under Shortcut, write the modifiers first, then a key, joined with
+:ctrl+shift+spacePress Save shortcut.
If another program already has that key, or the key cannot be read, the old one stays.
On Linux under Wayland, no program can take a key for the whole desktop. Use the tray's Quick entry instead.
